Outside of career mode, there’s playgrounds mode which gives the game a little bit of freshness and longevity, but once you’re done with that, it’s hard to justify a reason to keep referring to DIRT 5, and not one of its earlier versions, or competitors as your go-to racing game. Unfortunately, the game feels bloated with DJs, Podcasts, questionable writing, and a customization system that has to be tempered excessively to make the game feel natural. Racing, and some moreĭIRT 5, is a game that revolves around racing, and yet the narrative-driven career mode holds most of the weight of this title, along with the sound design, and ever-changing weather and environments that are visually stunning.

And that seems to be the overall feeling of the game, a title that tries to hide its ineptitude behind an artificial facade of beauty.
